Luxury genuine shell coprdovan handcrafted pen holster for two fountain pens.
In 1839, Edward Bulwer Lytton wrote that "the pen is mightier than the sword". Since the pen is also our favourite "weapon", we decided it would be amusing to call our pen "holder" a pen "holster".
The Kumano Pen Holster is named after the Kumano Kodo Pilgrimage a series of ancient pilgrimage routes that crisscross the Kii Peninsula, the largest peninsula of Japan. These mountainous trails are used by pilgrims to the Three Grand (shinto) Shrines of Kumano. These three shrines are the holiest Shinto sites of Japan.
Kumano is designed to look slim and elegant, while offering sufficient space to hold and protect one or two (see range) fountain pens. The compartments are designed to house medium size fountain pens (Montblanc 146, Platinum 3776, etc.) or smaller. The leather will feel a bit tight initially, it will stretch and adapt to your pens with use.
We have fitted a practical and robust steel clip to the back of the holster to allow it to be attached to inside pockets, belts, notebook covers, etc.
Shell cordovan has exceptional qualities, but is hard to source and has to go through a very complicated and slow tanning process. This makes it one of the most expensive, rarest and therefore exclusive leathers on the market.
Cordovan is exceptionally durable, we source ours from a top Japanese tannery. The shiny, slightly transparent finish has incredible colour depth and nuances.
Handmade in Japan by skilled craftsmen.
This pen holster is designed to be practical and a joy to use for many years, whether you use it for work, travel or journaling.
