Sustainability isn't just a buzzword for us.

Our products are crafted using traditional materials and techniques that have been handed down for generations. Every Ateliers Phileas creation is designed to last for many years and in some cases (shell cordovan for example), even a lifetime. 

Sustainability starts at the beginning of the production process, when we select our materials. Most of our leather and shell cordovan goods are made using vegetable-tanned leathers that do not have a deleterious impact on the environment. Our high-end mineral tanned leathers are tanned using techniques designed to have a very low impact on the environment.

We try to centralise sourcing and production, for example working with craftsmen and tanneries, which are located in the same region.

We avoid using plastics and other synthetic materials as much as possible, with the exception of specific packaging elements that protect your purchases from water damage during shipment. Most of our packaging is paper-based and may be recycled.
