"Bracco" (a Tuscan hunting dog) is a leather utility pouch based on 19th century hunting pouches used in Tuscany. Since time immemorial, both leathercraft and hunting have been an essential part of daily life there. We thought it would be fitting to draw inspiration from Tuscan culture to name our first "crafted in Tuscany" product.   

The pouches are handmade in a tiny village in the middle of Tuscany, using a gorgeous Tuscan vachetta leather. The pouch is designed to carry A6 size notebooks and other small items such as pens, smartphones, etc. Use either of the two compartments for your pens, depending on their height.

The leather has a beautiful natural texture (i.e. not a printed one, it is from the original hide), every Bracco is unique.

We use a carefully selected, full grain, vegetable-tanned, leather of the highest quality from a famous tannery in Tuscany. Every pouch comes with an official certificate of authenticity guaranteeing that the leather is vegetable tanned and produced in Tuscany under strictly controlled conditions.

This fine-grained leather has an almost silky feel, to it and outstanding colour depth. The beautiful grain is natural (not printed). Vegetable-tanned leather acquires a patina with use and exposure to light. The natural variant especially, will darken to a golden honey colour. Vegetable-tanned leathers are more durable than chrome-tanned ones.

Initially, the leather strap may seem a bit stiff, it will soften with use.

Vegetable tanning is a chemical-free, environmentally friendly tanning method, which also allows the original appearance of the hide to show through. Veins, scratches and other marks from the original hide may be visible. These are not defects, but natural characteristics that add to the beauty of the material.

Avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and humidity. Store in a well-aired, non humid environment.
If wet, allow it to dry away from heat sources.
Apply a thin layer of leather conditioner once or twice per year. We do not recommend products containing silicones or other synthetic substance, since they do not allow the leather to breathe. We also do not recommend waterproofing the leather for the same reason.
Scratches may be partially or completely buffed out using a very small quantity of leather balm and a soft cloth.
Water stains and other marks: vegetable-tanned leather will acquire stains more easily than mineral-tanned leathers, stains may be partially hidden when the leather darkens. Do not try to clean with water, alcohol or soap (including saddle soap).
